Why Stephen Baldwin Thinks One of His Brothers Would Fare Better on Special Forces: 'A Little Stud Muffin'

Warning: This story contains spoilers from the two-part season 3 premiere Special forces: the toughest test in the world.

Stephen Baldwin has no doubts about which of his famous brothers would be the best when it comes to competing in the Special forces: the toughest test in the world.

The 58-year-old actor – who retired from the Fox reality show during the season three premiere – detailed why his brother Daniel would do better than Alec or Billy in the military-style challenges.

“My brother Daniel was the best athlete in the family,” Stephen said Entertainment Weekly after his departure from the series. “Billy would do really well. He’s like a little stud, but I don’t know. I think this show is so physical. The only person that would ever come from my family, that could do well, that would be Daniel.”

Alec, 66, is the eldest Baldwin brother, followed by Daniel, 64, and Billy, 61. At 58, Stephen is the youngest of the siblings. Daniel appeared on Hawaii Five-O, The Soprano family, Grimm, Cold Case among other television shows.

Stephen – who is father to Hailey Baldwin Bieber and grandfather to Jack Blues – withdrew from the competition after seeking medical advice due to back and knee injuries following the helicopter rescue challenge. The decision came after he explained to the show’s doctor that he refused to risk further injuries that would jeopardize his other job, saying: “It’s not worth having to go to hospital for a few weeks.”

Stephen also described what he survived during his short time on the grueling reality show.

“The first day was more than brutal,” he recalled. “The 150 push-ups we did between those three events on the first day. It was absolutely devastating for me physically. That plus my asthma situation just made it too much.”

He added that he was “kind of glad to get out of there.”
