Woman Struggles to Open Her Locked Tesla After Door Handle Freezes During ‘Ice Storm’: Watch

Talk about a sneaky Tesla!

Earlier this week, TikTok user @zoezferg shared a post on the social media platform, highlighting her struggle to open her locked Tesla door in cold weather.

“POV: You own a Tesla during an ice storm,” the TikToker wrote alongside a video of herself trying to open the driver’s side handle, which was inside the car’s door.

After unsuccessfully trying to access the door with her jacket sleeve, the woman tried to push the handle out with her bare fingers, before later punching the area.

“Who needs to get in their car anyway?” she wrote in the title of the post.

Tesla ‘spontaneously’ caught fire on the highway, and about 6,000 liters of water were needed to put it out

According to Tesla, the company has “best practices” to ensure customers can access their vehicles in winter weather.

“When snow and ice build up on your vehicle, moving parts such as door handles, windows, mirrors and wipers can freeze in place,” Tesla says on its website.

“To achieve maximum range and performance, it is beneficial to warm up the cabin and battery before departure,” the company states.

Tesla recommends that drivers use an option on the company’s mobile app that allows them to schedule when they want their vehicle to be ready to drive.

There, they can adjust the temperature for heating the car and, if necessary, heat the high-voltage battery. Another option available in the app defrosts the car by helping to melt snow, ice and frost on the windshield, windows and mirrors.
