Wynonna Judd was born in Ashland, Kentucky in 1964. Her name is Christina Claire Ciminella. She was named Ciminella after Michael Ciminella, the man her mother married shortly after her boyfriend and Judd’s biological father, Charles Jordan, who died in 2000, left her.
Ashley Judd, the younger sister of this singer, is a famous actress. Ciminella and Naomi moved to Los Angeles with their girlfriends in 1968, but separated in 1972.
By 1976, she and Naomi were living in Kentucky, where she found inspiration in the country music her mother listened to and learned to play the guitar after receiving one for Christmas. During 1979, they both moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in pursuit of music careers.

Wynonna Judd’s career began in 1983 when she and Naomi signed to RCA Records as The Judds, a duo. Between 1983 and 1991, the Judds had 23 hit singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles (now Hot Country Songs) chart, including 14 at number one.
They also released eight studio albums, a Christmas album and two greatest hits compilations. Naomi was forced to retire after suffering a chronic bout of hepatitis C during her 1991 farewell tour.
When the duo actually broke up, she was signed to MCA Records as a solo artist with an affiliation with Curb Records. And she reconnected with her mother for a 1999 New Year’s Eve concert to welcome the year 2000, sponsored by K-mart.
Furthermore, they embarked on a full tour together in 2000, and four new Judds songs were released on an exclusive bonus disc alongside Wynonna’s album, New Day Dawning.
She had her first solo television performance in 1992, at the American Music Awards. Furthermore, she released “She Is His Only Need”, the lead single from her self-titled solo debut album.
