Arrested on suspicion of drug abuse
According to reports, in April 2019, an actor surnamed “Yang” was arrested on suspicion of drug abuse. A Korean news agency reported that police arrived at the scene around 3 a.m. Korean time after receiving a 112 call saying that Yang was running on a road near a hotel in Nonhyeon District, Seoul. Yang was taken back to the police station by the police for exhibiting strange behaviors such as gibbering. According to sources, Young tested positive for filopene, a form of methamphetamine, in a drug test. The Jiangnan Police Department conducted a thorough investigation into Yang’s drug use and investigated Yang’s drug purchase agency and company. Yang has reportedly recently appeared in high-profile movies and TV series on public broadcasting networks (SBS, KBS, MBC). After the news broke, some media asked about the roles of many actors named “Yang” in the case. Yang Donggen’s agency responded to this matter saying:
