Cole Hauser is mourning the death of his mother, Cass Warner.
The Yellowstone star took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a photo of him and his mom riding horses as he announced her death.
“It is with a heavy heart that my mother, Cass Sperling Warner, has passed away at the age of 76,” he wrote in the caption. “Her kindness, love, humor and incredible spirit will be missed not only by my family but by the whole world. You touched so many.”
“I know you’ll be up in heaven sitting next to all the great people who have walked our earth,” Hauser, 48, added in the caption. “We will meet again. Goodbye for now.”
Hauser’s mother Cass was the daughter of film producer Milton Sperling and Betty Warner Sheinbaum; her grandfather, Harry Warner, was one of the four founders of Warner Bros., which was founded in 1923 and remains one of Hollywood’s biggest companies.

Cass often shared photos of Hauser, his wife, Cynthia Daniel, and the couple’s three children, Ryland, Colt, and Steely Rose, on her Instagram page, where she called herself a “third-generation filmmaker, author, mother, Nona, concerned citizen, Rip’s mom,” in her biography Hauser stars as Rip Wheeler in the hit series Yellowstone.
“Do you hear that we have a future! Good souls are coming,” she wrote alongside a photo of Hauser and Daniel’s sons Ryland (19) and Colt (15) that they shared on Instagram back in January.
The picture is Cass’s last picture. “I’m so proud of them – Ryland and Colt. A job well done by Mr. Cole and sweet Cynthia!”

Cass spoke with Diversity in April 2023 for the 100th anniversary cover story of Warner Bros.’ establishment.
“The family had two extraordinary visionaries in Sam and Harry,” her grandfather Harry and his brother Sam, who co-founded the company with their brothers Jack and Albert, told the outlet. She added that her grandfather “would be thrilled to see all the new ways people can interact with each other.”
Hauser has shared photos of himself and his mother on Instagram in the past; in May 2021, he posted a childhood photo of himself smiling with Cass to celebrate Mother’s Day.
“Happy Mother’s Day mom! @casss.warner to many more years together on this planet,” he wrote at the time.
