Taken on Monday at Wirra Wirra Vineyards in McLaren Vale, south of Adelaide, social media users were left baffled as they tried to locate the mysterious reptile.

The vineyard was named Adelaide Snake Catchers, and two days later a small brown snake was pulled from the paved steps.

Reptile Catchers posted a video of the cheeky snake on its Facebook page, where followers were challenged to find the creature between the leaves and the ground.

“Oh my gosh! It took me a while to find it! Gosh it’s small,” wrote one confused user.

“All I see are bricks, dirt and leaves. Somebody help me and tell me where it is, please. I wish I knew what I’m looking for,” said another.

A third quipped: “I’ve been on the spec guardian and I still couldn’t see.”

The insidious reptile had been closely held by vineyard staff for about 40 minutes earlier.

Ange Broadstock of the Adelaide Snake Catcher arrived on the scene to remove it.

“It took a while for him to get out, but now the staff can get his stairs back and he’s happy,” Broadstock said.

Meanwhile, another mischievous snake was also caught in a seemingly innocent kitchen by Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7, leaving netizens baffled as to its whereabouts.
