Bighorn sheep lambs, like their parents, are camouflaged to blend in with their rocky environment.
Half the size of an adult Bighorn sheep, these lambs have a shorter wool coat, which feels soft and downy.
Don’t make the mistake of looking for the distinctive horns that these animals are known for, as their young do not grow to maturity.
Instead, try to find their puffy ears on the top of their head, in the same place a horse might have them.
If you’re still struggling to find young sheep, here’s a tip: look for darker tones.
Baby bighorn sheep are earthy in color; this one happens to match the darker tones of its surroundings.
When looking for a little sheep, be careful not to overlook it because it is more obvious than you think.

Believe it or not, the animal is almost the perfect center of the picture, its side profile visible as it looks to the left side of the picture.
