In July 2013, Yukta Mookhey accused her husband and his family of domestic violence and harassment. She filed an FIR under Sections 498A and 406 of the IPC (Indian Panel Code). She also charged her husband Prince Tuli under Section 377 (unnatural sexual intercourse) of IPC. The couple mutually agreed to divorce in June 2014.

After being crowned Miss India World 1999, she got the opportunity to represent India in the 49th Miss World beauty pageant in 1999. The pageant was held on December 4, 1999 at the Olympia in London, with 93 candidates from around the world vying for the title. During the Q&A session of the Miss World 1999 pageant, Yukta was asked:
If she could be anyone in the world, who would she be? “
She replied:
That must be Audrey Hepburn. It’s her inner beauty, compassion and aura. Her inner peace reflected it. “
Yukta Mookhey was crowned Miss World 1999 by her predecessor Linor Abargil. She became the fourth Indian to win this crown. Mukesh also won the Beauty Queen of Asia and Oceania award at the 1999 Miss World competition.

Yukta Mookhey made her acting debut in 2001 with a cameo appearance in a song titled “Yukta Mookhey” in the Tamil film “Poovellam Un Vasam”. In 2002, she made her Bollywood debut with the movie “Pyaasa”. The film proved to be a box office failure. Later, she signed on to star in several films including “Kab Kyon Kahan”, “Hum Teeno” and “Insaaf: The Justice”, but none of these films made it to the big screen. In 2019, after nearly 19 years, Yukta Mookhey starred in the movie “Good Newwz”.
