Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman Crack Up at Joey King in BTS Footage from A Family Affair: 'That’s My Girl'

The cast A family affair did some serious – and seriously hilarious – bonding on set!

New behind-the-scenes footage of the Netflix romantic comedy shows that stars — and on-screen love interests — Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman know that a cast that laughs together stays together.

In a clip Efron shared on Instagram on Friday, June 28, to mark the film’s release, the actor, 36, and Kidman, 57, couldn’t hold back as they watched actor Joey King perform the silly stunt.

The duo (who play famous actor Chris Cole and his personal assistant’s mom, Brooke in the film) giggled uncontrollably as King (who plays Brooke’s daughter and Cole’s personal assistant, Zara) filmed what appeared to be the moment she found out about the characters’ unexpected romance .

As High school musical alum recorded, King she screamed, hitting the door frame and falling to the floor, shattering both Kidman and Efron, who watched her fall from behind the camera.

Efron then turned the camera and laughingly said: “Let’s go!”

Also laughing, Kidman then chimed in with a thumbs up and added, “That’s my girl!” as Efron joked that King “does her own stunts.”

“That was so good,” King added as he walked towards the duo, also laughing.

In the comments, Kissing Booth star also received praise from her co-star Liza Koshy, who wrote: “No foundation, NOTHING. A raw puppy.”

Like Efron’s take on King, A family affair is funny, Efron told PEOPLE. But it’s also “romantic and fun,” he said.

The film marks the reunion of Efron and Kidman, who starred together in Lee Daniels’ 2012 thriller. Paper boy — which also saw the actors in some pretty steamy scenes. Efron told PEOPLE that he was nervous working with Kidman as a young actor, and felt similar trepidation on the set of their new film.

“I was still a bit worried, but reuniting with Nicole is always so great and as talented as she is as an actress, she’s just as kind, caring and wonderful to spend time with,” he said, promising the pair’s on-screen chemistry in the room -com is “flawless, natural and fun.”

Similarly, stunt queen King told PEOPLE that her on-screen mother is “iconic.”

Filming the Netflix project with Kidman, she said, was “really one of those moments where you have to remind yourself that this is actually your life and you’re going to be working with this person, and she’s somehow even more wonderful than you could ever imagine.”

As for her dynamic with on-screen boss Efron, King said, “None of us [was] we’re afraid of messing up or embarrassing ourselves because we’re just having fun figuring out what works.”
