Zac Efron Is 'Fine' After Briefly Hospitalized for 'Minor Swimming Incident' in Spain

Zac Efron is recovering after suffering a health scare while on holiday in Spain.

On Friday, August 2 A family affair star, 36, was staying at a villa in Ibiza when he had a “minor swimming incident” while using the pool, a rep for the star confirmed to PEOPLE.

Efron was taken to the hospital as a precaution and was released the next morning. “It’s good,” says the representative.

Earlier this week, High school musical The alum was spotted appearing on stage with DJ Martin Garrix during his performance at Ushuaïa Ibiza Hotel and Beach Club in the Spanish city.

In a video taken by fans of the “Animals” musician on TikTok, Efron could be seen walking on stage during one of Garrix’s songs and dancing along with him, much to the cheers of the crowd.

The actor has had a busy year so far, after appearing in Iron Claw, Ricky Stanicky and most recently, his rom-com opposite Nicole Kidman and Joey King, A family affair.

“It was called Mother F—–“, Efron explained, while Kidman added that it was, “Beep.”

“It somehow didn’t make the Netflix title,” she joked, while Efron added that the catchy title made him seriously consider getting involved with the project.

“That’s why the script stayed at the top of the pile,” Efron said. “It’s like, what could this be about?”

“I jumped in. I think we both did. We got ready,” Efron said of his and Kidman’s enthusiasm to work together again, having previously starred in the 2013 film. Paper boy. “It was like, this is perfect. What better way to reconnect? And have fun.”
