Zendaya loves a throwback look, and we love a throwback look for Zendaya.
For Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles on Thursday Dune the star appeared in another look last day.
While the look was decidedly more casual than many of her red carpet looks of late, it was no less impressive. She stepped out in boyfriend jeans (!!!) and a transparent silver Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Spring Summer 2020 corset.

Image architect Law Roach styled her like a catwalk model, with a dramatic silver necklace and silver cuffs—Bulgar gems, of course—as well as layered silver belts. She rounded off her look with white pointed-toe heels, a departure from the runway style of sheer platform heels.
The Euphoria star also sported a loose bob – a big departure from the loose curls she sported last night for the Green Carpet Fashion Awards.

For the Green Carpet Fashion Awards, Zendaya (27) ventured a little further into the fashion world, opting for a look from 2011. She wore a Roberto Cavalli dress from the house’s Spring Summer 2011 collection. The sleeveless, open-back, gray silk chiffon dress with a crocodile pattern featured tassel detailing and a plunging neckline, and the entire garment floated as she glided down the carpet.
Like today’s Essence event, she also accessorized with Bulgari wristbands, including several Serpenti designs.

Both looks come after Zendaya was named co-chair of the upcoming Met Gala, which will take place on May 6. With a dress code called “The Garden of Time,” Zendaya will host the gala alongside Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Jennifer Lopez.
The dress code for the event, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will honor the Costume Institute’s parallel exhibit, “Sleeping Beauties: The Reawakening of Fashion.”
