Zosia Mamet Says Husband's Ex Lived in Their New York Brownstone: 'Do You Mind if They Live Upstairs?'

Zosia Mamet and her husband Evan Jonigkeit once shared a home with one of his exes — and the actress was “totally fine” with it!

The Girls alum, 36, appeared on Today with Hoda and Jenna on December 13 to promote her new show, Passedand was asked: “Are you friends with your exes?”

“Unfortunately, I didn’t make that much progress and/or they were such terrible relationships that they just crashed and burned. My husband, however, maintains friendships with all of his exes,” Mamet told co-hosts Hodi Kotb and Jenni Bush Hager.

Those constant relationships don’t bother her, Mamet insisted, explaining: “We’re not jealous people.”

“Oddly enough, when we first started dating, I was like, ‘Wait, this is weird, isn’t it?’ And then I said, ‘Oh no, it’s actually really nice,'” she said.

That way of thinking led to Jonigkeit’s ex-partner moving into their house in New York for a while.

“[The ex had] she got married and had a kid, and her husband was coming to do a play on Broadway,” Mamet said. “He got a job at the last minute, and they couldn’t find an apartment, and then we had this brownstone. And he said, ‘Do you mind if they, like, live up there?’ And I said, ‘I mean, I guess?’ And it was quite good and beautiful.”

Mamet and Joingkeit, 41, married in a private ceremony in October 2016. They met after appearing in a play together in 2013 and most recently starred on screen in the Netflix series 2024. Decameron.

When Kotb pointed out that Mamet’s claim that she wasn’t “developed” seemed inaccurate, the actress joked, “I’m terrible in other ways. I’m just not a jealous person.”
