12 celebrities rumoured to star on Strictly Come Dancing 2023

Seriously come dancing may be on hiatus at the moment, but we’re already excited for the show’s return later this year. The 2023 series will see another group of celebrity contestants pairing up with professional dancers to learn to dance – but who is rumored to be joining this year? Find out here…

Sophie Morgan

TV presenter Sophie is said to be the first wheelchair contestant to enter the competition. Although she has yet to confirm the news, she did comment on the headline for The Sun which read: “Cha Cha Chair”, adding: “First wheelchair competitor”. She replied: “DAD, DAD, DAD…’ is this true? @TheSun we need to talk. I am NOT a wheelchair user. I am a wheelchair user.”

Nigel Harman

Last week, MailOnline reported on it and the former soap star Downton Abbey Actor Nigel Harman signed up to join this year. Judging by his merits, we think he will be a good candidate for the 2023 contest. Along with starring in a TV series, he recently had a West End career starring in shows like Guys and Dolls and Shrek the Musical.

Angela Scanlon

We love Angela Scanlon on shows like The One Show and Your Home Made Perfect and think she’ll be a great asset to the Serious Class of 2023! While unconfirmed, it has been reported that the BBC is happy to have her on board and that she will clearly be the favorite to go far in the competition. Interesting!

Jill Scott

Can Jill Scott keep an eye on the Glitter trophy after being crowned Queen of the Jungle in I’m a Celebrity last year? We certainly hope so. Rumor has it that the football player and all-around legend is about to wear some sequins and learn some Latin dance moves. We’re pretty sure there’s nothing Jill can’t do, so go ahead!

Ade Adepitan

We like Serious’s level of inclusion, with reports that the BBC is keen to put Ade Adepitan, a TV presenter and basketball player in a wheelchair. He’s a much-loved character on television, so his addition to the Serious cast this year is sure to come down if the rumors are true.

Rylan

The man knows Strictly very well, so this would make sense, right? After stepping down as host of It Takes Two earlier this year, Rylan suddenly has a slightly lighter schedule when it comes to this year’s Serious, does that mean he’s considering a contestant role? Fingers crossed.

Amy Nuttall

According to the Mirror, Amy is currently in talks to join Serious in 2023. The Downton Abbey star recently split from her partner, actor Andrew Buchan, and a source told the publication that Show on Seriously will be a fresh start for 40-year-olds.

Emma and Matt Willis

In an unusual move for Serious, it was announced that bosses are looking to have their first celebrity husband and wife compete against each other on the show since Gabby and Kenny Logan in series four! The pair were originally supposed to join before the 2022 screening, but were unable to participate due to scheduling conflicts. Maybe 2023 is their year!

Gino D’Acampo

The This Morning star has been a staple of all prediction lists since the show’s start – and this year is no different! Chefs and restaurateurs top our list of participants – especially after the recent news that they won’t be in the next Road Trip series!

Peter Crouch

Can Peter be the highest serious contestant ever? The former professional soccer player is tipped to join the competition – and at 6ft 7in he’ll need one of the taller dancers to team up!

Steph McGitas

Steph has previously spoken of her decision not to be on the show, explaining in August 2022: “Right now is not the right time. I have my show five days a week so I have to try. I try and work out every night and that’s not fair to my little girl. She’s so young and I don’t want to miss anything.” Now that her little girl is older, could this be Steph’s year?
