The Golden Globes shine a light on the best years in film and television.
Comedian Jo Koy hosts the 81st Golden Globe Awards, which air live on CBS Sunday night. In a statement last month, Koy, 52, said he had “stepped onto many stages around the world in his career, but this one will be extra special.”
“I’m so excited to host the Golden Globes this year. This is a moment where I can make my Filipino family proud. Mahal Kita (google it)!” he added.
Entering the Ceremony, Greta Gerwig Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, leads with the most nominations of any film this year. Among the TV categories, Successionthe last season deserved the most praise.
This year, two new categories were introduced: film and box office achievement and best performance in stand-up comedy.
The Golden Globes air live on CBS on Sunday, January 7, from 8 to 11 pm ET. The show also airs on Paramount+ and will be available on the CBS app.
