Oprah Winfrey maintains her purple style!
The party queen, 69, looked regal at the 2024 Golden Globes on Sunday in a daring custom purple Louis Vuitton dress and matching shoes. The look was a loving nod Purplewhich she co-produced.
Media icons were on hand to support the film (Fantasia Barrino, who plays Celie, is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, while Danielle Brooks, who plays Sofia, is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any film) as well as present.

Talking to Extra, Oprah said the dress took “600 hours” to make.
“Three women. . . It’s like a piece of art,” she said Extra. “I’m not going to take it off, I’m going to need three people to take it off.”
Winfrey wore plenty of purple looks during the promotion Purple. About sporting the shade during the press tour, she joked to PEOPLE, “I’m doing for purple what Barbie did for pink!”
At the Los Angeles premiere on Dec. 6, she wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana silk jersey dress that featured a square neckline, a floor-sweeping train and a slit. She added a sparkly purple clutch, ring and shoes.
On the red carpet, she addressed her thin figure on Party tonight. “It’s not about one thing, it’s everything,” she told that newspaper at the time.

In her PEOPLE cover story, Winfrey elaborated on her approach to maintaining a healthy weight, saying it includes regular exercise and the use of weight-loss drugs.
“I eat my last meal at 4 p.m., drink a gallon of water a day, and use the WeightWatcher principles to count the points. I was aware [weight-loss] medication, but I felt I had to prove I had the willpower to do it. Now I don’t feel that way anymore.”

on Ella At the Women in Hollywood Awards on Dec. 5, she wore a sequined suit and added purple hues to her ring, purse and heels.
“If you don’t have purple to wear it [watch The Color Purple]you can always do purple accessories like I did,” she wrote of the look on Instagram.

For the gala academy at the Museum on December 3, the talk show host for 25 years wowed in another custom Dolce & Gabbana dress, this one with long sleeves and a sequin-covered design. She added sparkle to the look with a ring from Effy Jewelry and a pair of striking shoulder-length earrings from Hamilton Jewelers.

Purple: Everything you need to know about the 2023 movie musical
Her first foray into purple came on November 15 at the National Book Awards. She wore a plum-colored dress with feathered sleeves.
The film is an adaptation of the Tony-winning Broadway musical inspired by the 1982 novel by Alice Walker. It debuted in theaters on December 25 and was a holiday hit, becoming the second biggest Christmas opening of all time.

The original film premiered in 1985 with Oprah as Sofia. The star was nominated for an Oscar for her successful performance in it, for which she received a salary of $35,000.
“Working [original] film was the most important thing that ever happened to me and continues to be a central theme in my life,” Winfrey told PEOPLE.
She added that the film — which was nominated for a total of 11 Oscars, including best picture and best actress for Whoopi Goldberg — “is the reason why I ended up doing my own series, why I learned to surrender, to do the hardest work and then let that work go. ”

Winfrey considered making a cameo in the 2023 film, but ultimately decided against it.
“I thought it would also get in the way when Sofia gets married if the old original Sofia is just one of the people in the church,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
