Xochitl Gomez rose to fame after portraying America Chavez in the MCU’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which was released in May. The 16-year-old actress previously starred in the Netflix drama The Baby-Sitters Club as Dawn Schafer. However, she left the program after the first season due to scheduling conflicts with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Xochitl Gomez caused controversy as America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Madness Multiverse, portraying a character of Hispanic descent who is the offspring of two women. Due to the similar background, the film was banned in various places around the world, including Saudi Arabia.

2) Her name means “flower”.

The name, pronounced “So-chee,” comes from the Nahuatl language, which is mainly spoken in Mexico and Central America. Aztec mythology also mentions Xochiquetzal, a fertility goddess who was highly revered for protecting young mothers. Given that Gomez is of Mexican ethnicity, the name Xochitl, which has Native American roots, seems fitting.

3) Her favorite things

Gomez has been practicing martial arts since he was 11 years old. She was already practicing kickboxing and lifting before landing the MCU role, but she added a number of new exercises to her training to get in shape for the film.
