1) Who was Dianne Hood?
Dianne Hood, a 32-year-old from Colorado, was killed. Her birthplace was Pecos County, Texas, where she was born in July 1958. She was a deeply religious woman who attended church frequently. She married a godly guy named Brian Hood, who was once an insurance salesman. Her husband was also a member of the church. Dianne and her husband Brian Hood have three children. Dianne’s life seemed to be completely normal, but everything changed when a gruesome murder took place and Dianne’s life was cut short.

On September 12, 1990, a terrifying tragedy occurred that drastically changed Dianne’s fate. Dianne was said to have lupus. She attended multiple support groups at a local community center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, because of her medical condition. Dianne was reportedly on her way home from one of those support sessions at a local community center on September 12, 1990 when the terrifying event occurred.
3) What happened to Dianne Hood?
According to reports, a masked assailant attacked Dianne from behind with an antique .45 caliber pistol. The perpetrator stole her passbook and brutally fired the gun from behind. The attacker allegedly stood over her body, shot her again and took her precious life. The killer tried to make the situation look like a robbery. Dianne Hood, on the other hand, was murdered in cold blood with meticulous premeditation.
4) Who was Dianne Hood’s killer?
Later, as the investigation progressed, it was discovered that Dianne’s husband was having an affair with a 28-year-old woman named Jennifer Reali, who was the one who killed Dianne. Jennifer Reali was married to Ben Reali, an Army officer, and the couple had two children. During the trial, she confessed to her horrific act and revealed that Dianne’s husband planned, initiated and directed Jennifer Reali to carry it out.
5) Jennifer Reali and Brian Hood, what happened to them?
Jennifer Reali was allegedly found guilty and sentenced to life in prison in 1992 for the first degree murder of Dianne Hood. Jennifer Reali’s sentence was commuted, however, by then-Governor of Colorado in 2011, making her eligible for parole. Jennifer was said to have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2014. She was granted parole in 2017. Jennifer died on March 24, 2018, just months after being released from prison.
Brian Hood was also charged and convicted of second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the death of his wife, Dianna. Brian Hood was eventually sentenced to 37 years in prison. He was reportedly released on parole in March 2019.
