90 Day Fiance’s Mary Clarifies Colon Cancer Claim: ‘I Made a Mistake’

A few days after she made a plea to her followers for financial support for her medical treatments, 90 Day Fiancé: Another Way’s Mary Denucciõ revealed that she does not actually have cancer.

Over the weekend, her husband Brandan shared a link to a fundraising page on his Instagram Story as he asked his followers to help pay for surgery to “remove [Mary’s] bowel cancer.” On the fundraising page, which has since been deleted, Mary wrote that she was “diagnosed with colon cancer” on Friday after experiencing intermittent symptoms since high school, which she considered “normal.”

Mary reversed her diagnosis in a statement on her Instagram Story on Tuesday when she apologized for the post, writing: “I was wrong.”

The 23-year-old wrote that her doctor told her she had a “colon problem”, so she “thought it meant I had colon cancer” and “panicked”.

“I had an anxiety attack and thought I had colon cancer and I posted it without thinking. It’s my fault and I’m very sorry for that,” she continued, before asking people to stop “harassing” her.

“I am only human. I’m in pain right now and the pain won’t go away. I kept throwing up and feel so weak. The doctor says my liver is inflamed and I have a blood infection, STI and hemorrhoids. We are still waiting for another lab test for my colon.”

Fans were quick to cast doubt on her alleged colon cancer diagnosis after a fundraising page that Mary started – and which Brandan shared on his Instagram Story – was halted on Monday, with the reason given as “GoGetFunding requested or needed to stop this campaign.”

In a description of the fundraising page, Mary wrote that she was “dreading the surgery” she believed she had to have due to symptoms from a C-section over the summer to give birth to her and Brandan’s daughter, Midnight. She claimed the doctor told her the cancer should be “removed before it’s too late”.

Mary also wrote that she does not have the “financial support” to fund the procedure because she is “the only one working in the family.”

The international couple – Brandan is from the US, while Mary is from the Philippines, where the couple now lives – married in Season 5 90 Day Fiancé: Another Way, which aired this fall. They greeted their 6-month-old daughter before saying “I do,” despite Mary’s family’s conservative beliefs.

“Brandan is here in person now and I really love him and feel ready to give him my all,” she said in the episode about their decision to try for a child together.

On their wedding day, Brandan said he loved Mary “more than anything” as he said his vows. “Mary, I’ve never met anyone who could make me feel the way you do. And I promise you that you will never have to worry about me leaving you.”

In her vows, she told Brandan, “I just want you to know that I love you very much. I know we fight a lot, but I want to spend my life, my whole life, with you forever.”
