Childhood of Qamar Javed Bajwa
Qamar Javed Bajwa was born in Karachi, Sindh on 11 November 1960. He attended Gordon College and FG Sir Syed College in Rawalpindi before entering the Pakistan Military Academy in 1978. His ancestors are from Ghakhar Mandi in Punjab. His father, Muhammad Iqbal Bajwa, was a Pakistani army officer who died in 1967 in Quetta, Baluchistan.
When his father died, Bajwa, the youngest of five children, was only seven years old. In September 2013, his mother, who raised him and his siblings, died. Bajwa’s father-in-law is retired Major General Ijaz Amjad. Bajwa attended FG Sir Syed College and Gordon College in Rawalpindi for his intermediate and secondary education.
