Aaron Rodgers Says He Had 'Stunted Emotional Intelligence’ Growing Up Because His Dad Didn't Cry (Exclusive)

Aaron Rodgers opens up about the impact his father had on his ability to understand emotions.

PEOPLE has exclusive footage of Rodgers, 41, explaining why he felt “stunted” by his father’s lack of emotion in the second episode of his upcoming Netflix documentary, Aaron Rodgers: Enigma, premiere on December 17.

The clip opens with Rodgers — whose public rift with his family dates back to 2014 — participating in an ayahuasca ceremony.

“I think part of the real joy of this work is that ayahuasca has such a feminine spirit,” he says, suggesting that the psychedelic drug allows users to “model a new way of thinking about masculinity or what it means to be a man.”
