Aditya Srivastava is an Indian actor who mainly appears in Hindi TV series and films. He is best known for his role as Senior Inspector Abhijeet in the popular police procedural television show “CID” (1998-2018) aired on Sony Entertainment Television.

Aditya Srivastava started his career as a theater artist at Sangeet Samiti, Civil Lines, Allahabad, while pursuing his BA. In 1989, he moved to Delhi and started performing at Shri Ram Center for Performing Arts.
Movie
Aditya Srivastava made her Bollywood debut in the 1994 film Bandit Queen, playing the role of Puttilal. In 1996, he appeared in the film “Sanshodhan” starring Manoj Bajpayee. His performance as Inspector Kandika in the film Satya (1998) was greatly appreciated by the audience.
In 2000, he played the supporting role of Tito in the movie “Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar”. Earlier, he was offered the lead role in the film, but it was later cast by Manoj Bajpayee. Srivastava played the role of guitarist Murgi in Anurag Kashyap’s 2001 film Paanch. Although the film was never released theatrically, it was screened as the closing film at the 2005 Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema in Osian.
He played the role of Lieutenant Colonel Pradeep in the film “Lakshya” (2004) starring Hrithik Roshan. In 2006, he played the lead role for the first time in the film “Dil Se Pooch…Kidhar Jaana Hai”. He plays a police officer named Avinash in the film.
In 2009, he played the role of Karan Singh in the film Gulaal. In 2010, he played the lead role of Sameer in the film Kaalo. In 2019, he played Lalan Singh in the movie “Super 30”. In 2024, he played the role of Bansi Sahu in the Netflix film Bhakshak.
Some of his other Hindi films include Dil Se.. (1998), Saathiya (2002), Black Friday (2004), Raat Akeli Hai (2020) and Bheed (2020).
Apart from Hindi films, he also acted in a few Tamil films such as “Naalai” (2006) and “Aalwar” (2007).

In 1992, he made his acting debut in the television series “Dera”. He played the role of Madhumoy Sur in the episode “Kahen Kavi Kalidas” of the television show “Byomkesh Bakshi” (1994), which was aired on DD National channel.
In 1997, he appeared in the TV series “9 Malabar Hills”, playing the role of Majeed. The TV series is aired on Zee TV channel. Srivastava appeared in several episodes of the thriller-horror television anthology series Aahat (1998), which aired on Sony Entertainment Television.
He gained immense popularity after playing the role of Senior Inspector Abhijeet in the popular police procedural television series “CID” (1998-2018) aired on Sony Entertainment Television. BP Singh cast him for the role of Abhijit after Singh noticed him in the film ‘Satya’ (1998). Before playing Abhijit, he played a criminal named Paresh in the drama series “Stolen Gun”.
In 2004, he played the role of Pramod in the horror TV series “Raat Hone Ko Hai” aired on Sahara Manoranjan channel. He narrated the historical drama “Peshwa Bajirao” (2017), which aired on Sony Entertainment Television. In 2019, he explored the role of Inspector Ashfaq Ali Khan in the drama series “CIF” aired on Dangal TV.

- In 2004, he was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for filming the longest continuous sequence in the episode “Succession” of the TV series “CID”
- He revealed in an interview that many times people mistakenly thought he was a real police officer. He recalled an incident at the Delhi airport where a woman mistook him for a police officer and asked him to find her lost wallet.
