Cannon was joined by several other celebrity volunteers at the charity event, including Joe Manganiello and Tom Sandoval, who served more than 4,000 meals completely free, provided more than 2,000 items of clothing, and gave free haircuts, manicures and pedicures to those in need.
Cannon tells PEOPLE that he continues to volunteer with the organization because his grandmother taught him that “to whom much is given, much is required.”
“The best part of any vacation is being able to be of service. And that’s what I feel like life really is,” he tells PEOPLE. “When you can get to a place where you have more fun serving and working for others, I think that’s when you reach the zenith of what life really is.”
