Alec Baldwin Jokes He 'Wasn't Very Fun' on New Reality TV Series: 'Tell Me What to Do'

Alec Baldwin teases his family’s upcoming reality show.

On Nov. 11, the actor revealed what fans can expect from the series, which will document his life with wife Hilaria Baldwin and their seven children. Speaking with Associated Press, Alec, 66, even hinted at when the premiere will be.

“It’s coming out in January, I think,” he revealed.

When asked what it was like to shoot the show without a script, he joked: “I wasn’t very funny. Tell me what to do!”

Days after The Baldwins released in June, a source told PEOPLE that Hilaria, 40, was “excited” to let viewers into her life.

“She can’t wait to share more about her family life,” an insider told PEOPLE. “She knows she lives a privileged life, but she still has to juggle and prioritize like many moms.”

“Family life with all the children is chaotic. But Hilaria is great at managing everything,” the source added, noting that Hilaria has worked to advocate “for moms to get their ‘me time,'” and to “prioritize” and “alone time with Alec,” as well as “her own health and well-being.”

The couple are parents to seven children: Ilaria Catalina Irena, 19 months, María Lucía Victoria, 3, Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, 3, Romeo Alejandro David, 5, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 7, Rafael Thomas, 8, and Carmen Gabriela, 10. .Alec has another daughter, Ireland, 28, with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

“She’ll be sharing her everyday tips on how to balance life,” a source said of Hilaria. “[She’s] I strongly believe that a strong marriage makes everyone happier.”

Despite Alec’s comment that it’s not “fun,” a source told PEOPLE that the pair are having a lot of “fun together” and “it’s going to be a treat to watch them together as a team.”

At first the insider said 30 Rock alum was skeptical about entering the reality world because he “wasn’t comfortable in the spotlight.” “It took a bit of convincing for him to do the show” before he agreed, the source explained.

“The best part about them is that they don’t fake bad — they’re very honest about how messy life is, but they see it as a beautiful mess,” they continued.

PEOPLE first learned that a Baldwin reality show was in the works in November when a source shared that Alec and Hilaria “were pitching a family reality show that would give an inside look at their lives.”

“They’re excited, but they would only do it if it’s an authentic representation of who they are as a family,” an insider told PEOPLE at the time. “All the kids have such fun personalities and Hilaria and Alec know how much interest there is in their lives.”

The source also shared that both parents wanted to give viewers a “behind-the-scenes look at raising a big family.”
