Alex Rodriguez's 2 Kids: All About Natasha and Ella

Alex Rodriguez has his hands full with two teenage daughters at home.

The former professional baseball player is the father of daughters Natasha, 20, and Ella, 16, with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. Although the former couple, who married in 2002, had a rocky divorce in 2008, they have since resolved their differences and remain committed to co-parenting their girls.

“Over the years, Alex has been a great father. The couple’s interaction has gotten better over the years and they ended up co-parenting in a very positive way for everyone,” a source told PEOPLE in June 2021.

“They have a good relationship now because they put their kids first,” the insider added of the exes.

The former New York Yankees player loves spending time with his family, often sharing cute photos of Natasha and Ella on social media.

In February 2022, the trio decided to dine out on a father-daughter date.

The proud dad captioned a photo of himself smiling while sitting between Natasha and Ella in a restaurant booth: “Evening date ❤️💙.”

Rodriguez also spent Independence Day with his girlfriends, posting photos of the festivities online. One photo shows Rodriguez and his daughters at a makeshift DJ booth, while another photo shows the trio with Scurtis, Scurtis’ husband Angelo Nicolas, and Rodriguez’s girlfriend Jaclyn Cordeiro.

Natasha Alexander Rodriguez, 20

Natasha Alexander Rodriguez was born on November 18, 2004.

Rodriguez often nicknames her daughter “Tashi,” and the two have a close relationship that is often documented on social media.

When she was 15, the father-daughter duo accepted Jennifer Lopez’s TikTok dance challenge in October 2020, and Rodriguez posted a video of the two dancing to his ex-fiancée’s “Pa’ Ti.” Rodriguez and Lopez divorced in April 2021.

As she got older, Natasha made a name for herself in Major League Baseball, but not in the same way as her famous father.

In September 2022, she showcased her vocal talent during a Miami Marlins vs. Philadelphia Phillies game at LoanDepot Park in Miami. Wearing her dad’s New York Yankees number, she graced the field and sang the national anthem.

Documenting the moment on Instagram, the proud dad simply captioned the post with a blue heart emoji and an American flag emoji.

In May 2023, Natasha graduated from high school, and Rodriguez marked it with a touching tribute on Instagram.

Alongside photos of the whole family at her graduation ceremony, he wrote: “Yesterday was bittersweet. Tashi, I can’t make time stand still, so my wish for you is that you go out into the world with confidence, knowing your worth and believing in yourself. As you move from one chapter to the next, I’m most proud of who you are as a person.”

Rodriguez also talked about Natasha’s graduation while talking to CBS Morning in May. “I’m devastated. I’m so excited, but then heartbroken,” he shared. “I mean, it goes by so fast.”

In August, Rodriguez helped Natasha transfer to the University of Michigan for her first semester of college. He shared photos from the emotional day on Instagram, including a photo of the couple sitting on Natasha’s new bed in the dorm.

“I left my heart in Michigan 💙💛 Dropping @thenatasharodriguez in college was one of the hardest yet proudest moments being a father,” he wrote in the caption.

While speaking with PEOPLE in April 2024, Rodriguez said that it’s become more clear to him how much he and his first-born daughter are alike now that she’s settled into her college routine.

“She has a sense of friends and which bus to take, as well as her gym and which Starbucks [to go to]”, he said. “So, she is very similar to me. She is very routine-oriented. I feel like he’s in a good place right now.”

He also added that Natasha has joined the school’s musical theater program and is doing “fantastic”.

Ella Alexander Rodriguez, 16

Rodriguez’s younger daughter, Ella Alexander Rodriguez, was born on April 21, 2008.

Like Natasha, Rodriguez frequently advocates for Ella on social media, sharing how proud he is of his second child.

“Ella, you continue to amaze me and fill me with so much pride! You are a beautiful young woman who is already on her way to conquering the world,” he captioned a photo of the two of them in June 2019. “You make me try to be a better father every day and it’s a privilege to watch you shoot for the stars.”

Like her older sister, Ella also loves music. In December 2018, Lopez posted a video of her daughter Emma and Rodriguez’s two daughters singing a rendition of Elvis Presley’s classic “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” while Natasha showcases her talents on the ukulele.

On Ella’s 14th birthday, Rodriguez posted a heartfelt tribute to his teenage daughter, along with a slideshow of throwback photos and videos.

“Happy birthday Ella Bella! I can’t believe my little girl is now 14. Ella, I’m so proud of the woman you’re growing into and so happy to be your dad,” he wrote on April 21, 2022. ” You’re smart, funny , kind and you make the world a better place! Happy birthday!

In August 2022, he shared a recreation of an adorable throwback photo with Ella. In both pictures, Ella can be seen smiling at the camera while sitting on her dad’s lap.

“How it goes —> how it started 💙”, he wrote in the description.

The proud dad paid tribute to Ella again on her 15th birthday in April 2023, captioning her video montage: “Happy birthday to my dreamer, free spirit, the one who keeps us all grounded. Couldn’t be more proud of you.”

Rodriguez’s girls even met baseball legend Jaclyn Cordeiro’s new girlfriend. In May, Rodriguez took Ella and her sister to a Miami Heat game, where they sat courtside with Cordeira. The former Yankee shared a selfie of the foursome at the game, where the two girls posed next to the happy couple.
