All About July's New Moon and What It Means for Your Zodiac Sign

Why? Since this month’s new moon will occur on July 5 this year, it will completely blacken the night sky as it enters this phase of the moon phase.

The appearance of a new moon is the exact opposite of that of a full moon, which often appears bright and dazzling when viewed from Earth at its peak. This month’s Full Moon, called the Buck Moon, occurs on July 21, 2024.

Despite the pale appearance of the new moon when viewed in the sky, its astrological energy will undoubtedly be present and significant for all zodiac signs. It will take place in Cancer, the fourth zodiac sign on the wheel.

PEOPLE’s astrologer, Kyle Thomas, says this water sign is in tune with domesticity, emotional security, our ancestors and families. He predicts that “it will energize” our lives, “allowing us to reflect on the past and better understand our foundations so we can build toward our greatest plans and endeavors.”

July’s New Moon kisses Mars, which Thomas says can bring “passion and excitement to our lives and relationships.” He also smiles at Saturn, he adds, which can bring “stability and strength to our plans, emotions and goals.”

The new moon also conjuncts Venus, which Thomas says can bring “pleasure, beauty and harmony into our lives.” The other planets are in a rare dance, he notes, which means that “relationships, situations and endeavors initiated at this time will be multiple and have many layers.”

Above all, positive energy is ahead of us. “Success, happiness and good fortune can be found personally or professionally,” he adds.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

It’s time to lay low and recharge your batteries. “You like to go-go-go,” but Thomas says this new moon is telling you to “be slow-semi-slow.”

You’ll notice that the universe seems to be “speaking to you in synchronicity and in your dreams,” he says, “encouraging you to fantasize about what you’d like to tackle when birthday season comes around.” So he suggests that you “pay attention to your intuition and focus on improving your mental health.”

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
