Loreal got her fifteen minutes of fame when she won ABC’s first season Claim to famereality show where celebrity relatives try to guess each other’s claim to fame in a series of challenges and guessing ceremonies.

Speaking to PEOPLE about the experience, Loreal revealed that she was surprised by how emotionally draining being on the show was.

“It’s a game, but there are real people involved and real feelings. I used to watch reality TV and when I’d see someone have a breakdown, I’d be like, ‘Oh, this is so dramatic.’ But now I apologize to those people I thought that about. I didn’t expect the emotional toll it took,” she said.

Although Loreal was the winner, she hinted at her relationship with Keke in various challenges, including a surprisingly sentimental one where she wore a bee costume to represent Keke’s film, Akeelah and the bee. Despite the clear nod to her famous sister, her fellow contestants thought it was a hint of a relationship with Laurence Fishburne, who also starred in the film.

“I’m different and I was teased a lot as a kid, so that doesn’t make you feel pretty,” Loreal said, crying in a confessional video. “That challenge, I finally felt like I was. I know I was a bee, but I felt like I was a butterfly.”

Loreal won over the public and her colleagues, with whom she says she is in contact.

“We have a group chat and then we have individual conversations,” she told PEOPLE. “I hope we’ll always be in touch because it was a unique experience bringing together people who otherwise probably would never have met. It’s like I’m leaving with 11 new friends.”

She also posted some behind-the-scenes photos of her time on the show, with bonding images of her and her co-stars, hosts Frankie and Kevin Jonas, and crew members.

“This has truly been a life changing experience and it just keeps getting better! I love you all and I’m proud to say I did this with you,” she wrote in another Instagram post.

You can be whatever you want to be,” Loreal told PEOPLE about Keke. “You’re going to have people who don’t agree with what you do or who don’t like you and that’s okay. It’s part of life. You have to go on and live for yourself.”

“My nephew @gaming_with_age told me he wants to be an actor like me when he grows up 🥺 — so we decided to make a movie! His two little sisters decided to join and we even did a little premiere,” she wrote.

“I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to have this aspect to channel our creativity. My parents were entertainers, my siblings are entertainers (although they don’t always actively do it lol), and I’m an entertainer,” she continued. “We’re passing it on to the next generation. My heart is SO full.”
