Angela Bassett Glitters Like an Oscar Statuette on Red Carpet for Governors Awards

Angela Bassett hit the red carpet on Tuesday to accept her honorary Oscar in a look worthy of the award.

The actress (65) shone in a nude tulle dress. The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever the star’s mermaid silhouette was encrusted with crystals from her neck to the hem of her dress. The sleeveless look was created with illusion tulle that included an ombre effect created by jewels.

She wore a jeweled sash around her waist accompanied by a cluster of crystals which were then scattered across her bodice and legs. Her yellow mermaid tulle skirt included strings of jewels.

She completed the outfit with a pair of crystal earrings and a unique diamond ring. She completed the red carpet look with dewy makeup that included light brown lip gloss and gray smokey eyeshadow.

The actress was joined on the red carpet by her family. Her husband, Courtney B. Vance, wore a black velvet tuxedo with a black satin bow tie and a wool gambler’s hat.

The couple’s 17-year-old twins, Bronwyn Golden and Slater Josiah, matched their father in all-black dresses — giving their mother time to shine! Slater posed in a sleek black patent suit that included a subtle feather pattern. He completed his look with a black tie.

Bronwyn wore an embellished black A-line dress that included black beading and white crystals. Her look was completed with a micro mini black clutch encrusted with crystals and silver hoop earrings.

Bassett was honored at the 14th Governors Awards for her contributions to the film industry. “Throughout her decades-long career, Angela Bassett has continued to deliver transcendent performances that set new standards in acting.” Academy President Janet Yang said in a press release.

For the 2023 Oscars, the star looked like royalty in a gorgeous purple Moschino mermaid gown with a dramatic bow neckline. She completed the regal look with stunning Bulgari diamonds fit for a queen. Serpintini’s necklace, bracelet and rings had 93.45 carats.
