Angie Harmon Does Her Makeup While Her Pet Squirrel Crawls Across Her: ‘Don’t Eat My Sweater’

Angie Harmon is channeling her inner princess — except instead of singing with woodland creatures, she’s filming a makeup tutorial with one.

On Wednesday, the actress — known for her roles on Law and order and Rizzoli & Isles — shared a video on Instagram of herself trying to apply mascara while her pet squirrel, Thomas, treats her like a jungle gym.

In the video, the 3-month-old squirrel climbs onto Harmon, 51, moving from his hips and arms to his back and shoulders as he tries to gain control of the mascara wand.

Angie Harmon admits on social media that she is ‘absolutely crazy’ about the young squirrel in her care

“I’m just going to put on some mascara and I’d appreciate it if you could relax for two seconds,” she tells the restless rodent. “Don’t bite my sweater.”

At one point, Thomas even grabs the product, prompting Buried at Barstow star to ask, “Do you want some mascara? Let’s give you some mascara.”

“There’s no reason to be rude,” he jokes.

After showing her exasperation with a series of pained faces, Harmon says, “I still have to do my hair,” and tries to argue with the squirrel once more (“Thomas, please come here”) before blushing.

“You’re going to miss Fluffy,” Harmon tells his pet as he grabs a blush brush.

Thomas then jumps on her head and with a final “No”, the video ends abruptly.

“Here’s a shameless plug for @justbobbidotcom & @jonesroadbeauty mascara. & squirrels. I LOVE THEM BOTH! ❤️🐿️💋,” the actress wrote in the video. She added the hashtags, “#blessed #grateful #squirrels.”

Angie Harmon Talks Adjusting to Menopause, Life After 50: ‘Your Body Just Isn’t Yours Anymore’ (Exclusive)

Thomas’ playful cameo comes a week after Harmon exclusively shared with PEOPLE the story of how the shaggy little guy came into her life.

“So my youngest daughter found it on the sidewalk, and there was no tree to put it on,” 14-year-old Emery recalled of the discovery. (Harmon also has two older daughters, Avery, 18, and Finley, 20.)

Harmon said she ordered Emery to put the newborn rodent under a tree and wait for its mom to return, but she didn’t.

“So I said, ‘Okay, I’ll come get him,'” she told PEOPLE. “And then I’ve had it ever since.”

Thomas first opened his eyes about “a month later,” and Harmon — who also has three dogs and two cats — said taking care of the squirrel was like having a newborn in his arms.

“I literally had to get up every hour and a half to feed him. I mean, I didn’t sleep for a month,” she said. – It was brutal.

And, like putting makeup around a squirrel, feeding it often comes with a few scratches — but Harmon doesn’t mind.

“I happily accept the scratches,” she told PEOPLE. “He is my child. I love him very much.”

The self-proclaimed “squirrel mom” also joked that after posting about Thomas on her social media accounts, she started getting feedback from many “squirrel experts.”

“It’s so funny because when something like this happens, all of a sudden, all of your friends come out,” she laughed. “They’re all squirrel experts. I say, ‘I thought you were a vodka expert.'”
