Anil Sharma

Anil Sharma is an Indian director and producer who primarily directs Bollywood films. He is known for directing the films Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001) and Apne (2007).

Anil Sharma was born on Monday, 7 March 1960, in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh (63 years old as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Pisces. He pursued his Bachelor of Science degree from Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Mumbai. Anil’s grandfather was a famous fortune teller whom he affectionately called Baba. At that time, Geeta Dutt, KN Singh, Tuntun and other movie stars followed him and often asked him for advice. In return, they often provide help (seva). When he was young, he often noticed a large crowd gathering outside his house and wondered why they were looking at the stars. Seeing these crowds whenever tourists came, he decided he wanted to work in the film industry. When he was five years old, he went to Meerut with his grandfather to attend a wedding. They live in a hotel near the cinema. Before the wedding, he asked his dad to take him there. They watched a movie called Ganga Ki Lehrein for only 10 minutes. When he grew up and went to Mumbai, he showed a producer his first script as a director and realized that the producer also made the movie Ganga Ki Lehrein. He narrated his experience in Meerut to the producers and asked about the actor who played the hero. To his surprise, he discovered that it was Dharmadhara. Therefore, Damudara was the first hero he saw in his life.

When he was 14 years old, he had memorized all the stories in the Bhagavad Gita. His grandfather often asked him to tell these stories to smart scholars, who would be moved by his stories and even cry. He can tell even complex stories effortlessly. Through these experiences, he realized he was really good at telling stories. His father moved to Mumbai, but Anil initially stayed in Mathura with his grandfather. After the death of his grandfather, Anil completed his 12th grade and at the age of 17 he went to Mumbai with his father. In an interview, he revealed that Mahatma Gandhi once came to his house during his visit to Mathura.
