AJ comes and goes in a flash
Anthony Joshua made a brief appearance at the post-fight press conference.
But he did not ask the questions of the gathered media.
He said: “We tried to make it but we came up short unfortunately.
“We rolled the dice, man, third time. Thirteen world title fights.
“Not all of them were successful, but all of them were fun and entertaining.
“We’re trying to make history for British boxing and I think we’re doing that.” We are trying to make history for British boxing and I think we are doing that.
“I appreciate all the press, the media. The fans are not here, but I thank them through you.
“I’m sure you’ll let them know we appreciate their support.
“And you’re probably asking yourself, ‘Do I want to keep fighting?’ Of course I want to keep fighting.
“That’s why I said we tried to succeed and fell short. And what does that mean now?
“Shall we escape and live to fight another day? And that’s me.
“I am a warrior. And also, before I finish, we must give credit to our opponent, Daniel.
“Although when I sign up to fight opponents, I don’t really like them.
“But now it’s over, I take my hat off to him and say well done to him and his team.
“And also to my team, thanks for the way they prepared me.
“There are a few mistakes, but that’s the name of the game.
“Good margins will cost you at the highest level. So thank you.”
