Artem Chigvintsev listed his financial demands in response to his estranged wife Nikki Garcia’s divorce petition.
In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Dancing with the stars pro, 42, asked the judge to award him spousal support, while Garcia cannot receive the same financial support.
In addition, Chigvintsev requested that Garcia pay his attorney’s fees and that the court determine the alleged spousal status for the duration of their marriage, which is listed in the documents as lasting from August 26, 2022 to January 19, 2023.

On Sept. 11, Garcia, 40, filed for divorce in Napa Valley, California after nearly two years of marriage, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE. The filing comes nearly two weeks after Chigvintsev was arrested on spousal battery charges and hours after a source told PEOPLE that Garcia has found a divorce attorney.
At the time, Garcia’s rep confirmed the news of their split to PEOPLE, saying, “Nikki Garcia has filed for divorce. She continues to seek privacy for her and her family at this time.”
In her initial petition, the former WWE star asked for legal and physical custody of their son Matteo, with Chigvintsev granted visitation rights. Although Chigvintsev asked the court to terminate Garcia’s ability to receive spousal support, Total Bellas alum petitioned for it terminated for both parties.

The duo met in 2017 when they were paired together in season 25 Dancing with the starsalthough the retired WWE wrestler was engaged to John Cena at the time. In July 2018, Garcia and Cena officially called it quits after six years together.
The DWTS the couple reconnected later that year and made their relationship official on Instagram in March 2019.
Garcia and Chigvintsev got engaged in November 2019, welcomed their son Matteo in July 2020, and officially married in August 2022. However, the couple faced several obstacles on their way to the altar.

In June 2021, nearly two years after the couple announced their engagement, Garcia revealed the couple’s decision to pause wedding planning while they work on remodeling their new home. Five months later, the couple would postpone their wedding due to travel restrictions related to COVID-19 before postponing the wedding again after Chigvintsev was diagnosed with pneumonia the following January.

Then, in the March 2022 episode of the series Podcast Bellas, Garcia said she is reconsidering her plans to marry Chigvintsev, who has recovered from his month-long battle with a respiratory illness.
Nearly three years into their engagement, a source told PEOPLE that Garcia and Chigvintsev tied the knot in Paris in August 2022. The couple announced the news on Instagram with two wedding photos: a close-up of the couple’s rings and another image of the newlyweds looking up at the Eiffel Tower in the distance.
