It is understood the boy’s horrified family saw the alleged attack unfold on September 18.

A relative quickly chased the man out of the hotel, and the incident was allegedly caught on camera.

It is claimed that the suspect has been seen wandering around a hotel in Costa Adeje for several days.

Spanish police officers arrested the man, reports DublinLive.

A source told the newspaper: “The family is shocked and horrified by what happened.

“What was a nice family vacation quickly turned into a vacation from hell.

“They are horrified that the attack happened before their eyes. One of the family members chased the man out of the hotel.

“They spent the last few days of vacation between the police station and the court.

“They want to warn other families holidaying in Tenerife to keep an eye on their children because this happened in the blink of an eye.”

It came after a British teenager was allegedly sexually assaulted by a taxi driver in the back of a taxi in the Spanish resort of Magaluf.

Officers launched the search after the 17-year-old went to the police station with his mother to make a statement following the reported incident in the early hours of August.

The young man told the officers that the taxi driver started touching him as they were walking from the party street of Punta Ballena towards a tourist hotel before he demanded that he have sex with him.

This led to a fight in the taxi which ended with the taxi driver physically assaulting the teenager, it is reported.
