Gracie Abrams has a new member of her fandom!
On Monday, December 16, Barbra Streisand shared a photo from Gracie’s Saturday night live performance on social media — and revealed that she was shocked when she found out who her father was.
“Just saw a wonderful new singer named GRACIE ABRAMS (@gracieabrams) on Saturday Night Live this weekend,” Streisand, 82, captioned her Instagram post. “And it turns out she’s the daughter of my friend JJ Abrams!”
Gracie — whose mother is Katie McGrath — made it SNL debut on December 14 as the musical guest. She performed two during the episode The Secret of Us (Deluxe) songs — “That’s So True” and “I Love You, I’m Sorry” while Chris Rock hosted.

JJ, 58, is a director and composer who co-created the series lost and Alias. He also directed several Star Wars movies, starting with The force is awakening. In 2022, the 25-year-old “Blowing Smoke” singer told iHeartRadio Canada that “it’s a privilege to have even grown up knowing what the entertainment world is like.”
“I think having that as a child solidified my love and appreciation for storytelling … and influenced the fact that I did it all the time,” she continued.

However, when it came to songwriting, she kept it separate from her parents.
“I definitely kept them so far away from it. “Writing songs for me has always just been a personal outlet to deal with my experiences without having to talk to anyone, especially my parents for many years,” said Gracie.
“Now I’m very happy… I’m super close to them and I tell my mom everything,” she added.
