News of the death of Bernadette Hunt
It has been known that Falcon, the star of Gladiators, has died at the age of 59. The television icon, whose real name was Bernadette Hunt, tragically passed away after a battle with cancer. News of Hunt’s death was shared on Facebook by her sister’s partner, Rick Jango. The message read: “It is with great sadness that I have to inform you of the passing of Bernadette Hunt, my partner’s younger sister. She is primarily remembered as Falcon from the popular TV series Gladiators.”
“He was one of the loveliest people I have ever met and I had the luxury of being in his company several times. She was known as the friendliest “gladiator,” often stopping to chat and sign autographs for everyone. She never spoke ill of anyone.” “She fought cancer for several years until she, unfortunately, lost the battle,” read the last words of the publication.
In the popular television show, hosted by Ulrika Jonsson and John Fashanu, which featured ordinary people fighting “Gladiators” in front of an audience in an arena, Hunt took on the role of Falcon.
Hunt made his Gladiators debut in 1993 during the second season and was an integral part of the show until 1999. Between 1994 and 1995, he also appeared on International Gladiators.
After appearing in Gladiators, Hunt chose a quieter lifestyle and began working as a fitness trainer at Basingstoke Sports Centre. In 2022, the news was officially revealed. At the time, Kate Phillips, director of Unscripted at the BBC, said:
