Beyoncé brought her renaissance energy to the Grammys.
The megastar – who skipped the carpet – appeared in the audience as Fantasia Barrino paid tribute to eight-time Grammy winner Tina Turner, who died aged 83 in May.
As Barrino ran off stage while singing “Proud Mary,” she eventually reached Queen Bey, who was glowing in a black and silver Louis Vuitton short suit, with her matte platinum hair topped off with a cowboy hat.
It was the latest design the star wore from Pharrell, who created a similar look, plus several others for his Renaissance World Tour.
The moment was especially special because Bey is one of Turner’s biggest fans. She wrote a moving note about Turner after his death and sang a rendition of Turner’s “River Deep – Mountain High” during a series of stops on her Renaissance World Tour. She also paid tribute to Turner at the 2005 Kennedy Center Honors.
