Bill Belichick Sides with Girlfriend Jordon Hudson in Feud Over Her Cheerleading Team

Bill Belichick is standing by his girlfriend Jordon Hudson as she defends her alma mater’s cheerleading program.

In an Instagram Story shared by Hudson, 24 — a former cheerleader at Bridgewater State University — her boyfriend Belichick, 72, is seen wearing a Bridgewater cheerleader shirt.

Hudson put the hashtags “#DontPokeTheBears” and “#DemandingRespect” over a picture of Belichick holding his hand up to mimic Bridgewater’s bear claws.

Hudson captioned the photo that the former New England Patriots coach is “on Team BSU” amid her ongoing feud with radio host Winnie Akoury on Kiss 108’s “Billy & Lisa in the Morning.”

Akoury, 31, slammed Bridgewater State’s cheerleading program during the Oct. 21 morning show, saying the team is in Division III, “which isn’t even competitive.”

Akoury then claimed, “I could have been a Bridgewater State cheerleader!”

Hudson quickly clapped back at the host, telling Akoury that she “poked the bear” with her comments.

The former cheerleader challenged Akoury to follow up on her claim that she could make the team.

“And, since you’re SO confident you can make the team, (as you stated LIVE on air (twice)); I’d love for you to bring the @Kiss108 camera crew to film your undeniable dominance over our poor little DIII cheerleading program,” Hudson wrote in an Instagram post.

In late June, PEOPLE confirmed that Belichick has been dating the former Bridgewater State University cheerleader for more than a year after the pair were spotted together on several occasions, fueling rumors of their romance.

In recent months, the couple has taken their relationship public. Hudson shared photos from their romantic summer together in an Instagram post that showed the former Patriots coach and his girlfriend looking in love as they posed for selfies.

Their relationship follows the retired coach’s 16-year relationship with his longtime girlfriend Linda Holliday. The former couple broke up last September.

Belichick was previously married to Debby Clarke Belichick from 1977 to 2006. They have three children: sons Steve and Brian and daughter Amanda.
