Blac Chyna Claims Tyga Changed Son King’s School Without Her Knowledge and ‘Diminished’ Her Role as His Mom

Blac Chyna is asking the court to help her regain equal time with her son King Cairo.

Custody and visitation of the 10½-year-old son of the model mom (born Angela White) and ex Tyga (born Michael Stevenson) is at the center of an ongoing legal battle between the two.

In new documents obtained by PEOPLE, filed Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Chyna, 35, makes significant allegations against Tyga, 33, regarding issues in their co-parenting relationship.

The paperwork reiterates Chyna’s request for 50/50 physical and legal custody of King, as well as for Tyga to pay legal fees related to the matter. After explaining the former couple’s backstory and noting that they previously began the process of creating a formal custody order in 2014 — with the later “informally agreeing” to settle things outside the legal system and the matter ultimately being dismissed in 2019 — Chyna this asserted. it’s not the first time she feels Tyga “tried to interfere” in her relationship with King.

Chyna and Tyga agreed that she would have King on weekdays and him on weekends, and she claims, “The defendant and I maintained this schedule until I gave birth to my second child from another relationship, Dream, in November of 2016.”

In her Monday filing, Chyna explains that due to issues between her and daughter Dream’s father, Rob Kardashian, she felt it was in King’s “best interest” to temporarily change the schedule.

“Dreama’s father and I separated three (3) months after she was born. Immediately following my separation from Dreama’s father, I was involved in multiple lawsuits involving Dreama’s father and his family members. The ongoing litigation exhausted me and required a lot of my time and energy,” the documents state.

“I was exposed to a great deal of media ridicule and responded to legal requests, discovery and emails on a daily basis. I had King’s best interest and well-being in mind. I put King’s needs first and for that reason requested that the defendants and I reschedule,” she continued. “The defendant agreed. Again, informally and without a court order, it was agreed that my detention time with King would be from Friday to Monday. My understanding was that our agreement was that it would only be temporary.”

But a source close to the situation tells PEOPLE, “She has a direct line of communication with King and can reach him anytime. Tyga paid for everything from school to medical bills and for his daily life. He is very practical as a dad. She knows where Tyga lives.”

“She wants 50/50 custody so she can file for child support,” the source insists.

In the time since, Chyna says the two have “mostly gotten along and been able to communicate effectively about King,” but says the situation changed in mid-2019 when Tyga “suddenly cut off all direct communication” with her.

“To this day, I am not sure what triggered the Respondent and what happened to result in his refusal to communicate with me through normal channels. I was no longer able to directly communicate with the Respondent via text message or email; and he would not reveal his home address, where King resided, neither do I,” Chyna claims in the document, saying she still doesn’t know the Bel Air address King calls home during his father’s time.

While the custody arrangement “remained the same,” she began communicating through Tyga’s mother, Pasionaya Nguyen. Shortly after the switch, she claims Tyga “started keeping King on my weekends, no communication, regardless of my parenting time.”

“I was completely in the dark about where King lived, what the interviewer’s contact information was, or what was going on in King’s life,” she said.

Chyna claims the schedule continued this way until 2020, when she requested that King’s schedule be changed to parallel Dream’s, allowing both children to spend Saturday through Wednesday each week together. After initially refusing, Chyna says Tyga then agreed to the schedule on a temporary basis.

“The defendant’s absolute disregard for me as the King’s mother has not stopped,” Chyna states in the filing. “He continued to interfere with my time with King, with little or no communication,” citing incidents and providing screenshots of such situations.

“I finally found the courage to ask the Court for the most basic legal and physical custody orders. This has simply gone on too long and my role as King’s mother continues to be diminished,” Chyna claimed, adding, “It is not in our son’s best interest.”

Chyna claims Tyga didn’t share key information with her, from King’s eyeglass prescription to her speculation that he changed King’s school without telling her.

“As the spring semester of 2023 began, I stopped receiving all communications from the school. I have reason to believe that the defendant has now enrolled King at a new school and has refused to provide me with information and has not provided his information to the school,” the documents allege, with Chyna noting that she contacted the school she believes her son attends, but the administration was “evasive” and chose not to get involved.

Noting that Tyga would allegedly allow King to be “in the care” of third parties, such as babysitters, friends and family, instead of returning him to Chyna on her own time, she claims, “The defendant took this matter into his own hands with no awareness of the harm that causes to our son. My parenting time continues to be minimized and the defendant faces no consequences for his actions.”

Chyna hopes the court can stop Tyga from “interfering” and “dictating my parenting time.”

“I am seeking court orders so that I do not beg the defendant or his mother for time with our son. I have tried numerous times to request additional time with King, but as directed by the defendant, his mother PJ will either ignore my requests or respond that the schedule will not change,” she adds. “For this reason, I am asking the Court to order custody measures so that I can have frequent and ongoing contact with our son and be given equal access to the decision-making process related to his health, safety, and well-being.”

Chyna also claims that “King has expressed that he wants to spend more time with me and his sister. It’s important to me that King and Dream get a chance to make beautiful memories as siblings. They are very close and love each other very much.”

Claiming that Tyga changed them into a “parallel parenting structure” without her consent, she also asked the court to require them to communicate through the OurFamilyWizard app, which each parent should check “every twenty-four (24) hours,” because as well as “sharing of our current contact information to be used for emergency purposes only,” with the condition that the information be shared with any “third-party caregivers who are watching our son.”
