Boy, 16, killed by falling tree with woman, 28, and two men arrested – as cops launch urgent probe into tragedy

A BOY has tragically died after being hit by a falling tree and three people have now been arrested.

Officers were called to Rotherham Baulk in Nottinghamshire at around 11am yesterday after receiving frantic calls that a teenager had been seriously injured.

There they found a 16-year-old boy who was fighting for his life, but tragically there was no way to save him.

Police said today that three people have been arrested in connection with this horror.

Two men, 28 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

A 28-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of helping the perpetrator.

Detective Inspector Simon Harrison, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a tragic incident and my thoughts are with the boy’s family. They asked for privacy at this most difficult time.

“The family are being assisted by specially trained officers as we continue to investigate exactly what happened.

“Our inquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone with information, including witnesses and anyone who may have recorded CCTV, door camera or video footage, to contact us.”
