Camila and Matthew McConaughey Sport Half Their Birthday Suits for Their Pantalones Tequila's 1st Birthday

It’s their party and they’ll lose their pants if they want to!

Camila Alves McConaughey and Matthew McConaughey are celebrating the anniversary of their spirits brand, Pantalones Organic Tequila, on Friday, October 25. Since first launching their tequila, the couple have posted several pantsless photos in a cheeky nod to the spirit’s name — and their birthday post is no different.

The latest ad shows the couple surrounded by balloons, streamers and gifts as they celebrate. The Dallas Buyers Club The actor, 54, whose Nov. 4 birthday happens to fall just a few weeks after Pantalone’s, wears a blue cowboy hat with the message, “It’s my birthday!” Meanwhile, the Women of Today founder, 41, wears a pointy party hat and has her hands full with a candlelit cake.

Below the waist is where the fun really begins. The pixelated edit helps to disguise the fact that they’re not wearing pants.

Other campaigns for the brand have featured stars riding motorcycles, playing pickleball and mowing the lawn without pants.

The pair told a group of food editors Oct. 24 at Pantalones’ birthday party that it took 47 iterations to arrive at their organic tequila blanco, reposado and añejo. “That was rule number one: This has to be our favorite tequila. No matter what’s on the shelf, it has to be our first choice,” said Matthew.

The pair explained that they’ve always been on the same page when it comes to taste and marketing, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t any nerves at the launch.

“Camila was very nervous about our joint work, a partnership on a project that opens face forward. He’s always helping me behind the scenes and helping me make decisions, so this is the first job where we’ve said, ‘Okay, let’s do it together and be honest about it.’ Which she was worried about, understandably so. Starting a business relationship, you’re a couple and you have a romantic relationship, that can disrupt things a little bit,” said Matthew.

Fortunately, her worries quickly disappeared once they got going. “We’re having fun with it. That was the promise and part of the vision we have with tequila. Tequila has gotten too fancy,” Camila explained.

Matthew reiterated, “If we’re not having fun selling this, then we’re doing it wrong. And if we keep not having fun, we’ll stop doing it. Well, luckily, we’re happy to say we’re having fun doing it, and we are had it’s fun to do.”

Tri Pantalones tequilas ($40 to $50) recently became available nationwide.
