In the midst of a dizzying era of ubiquitous fashion trends, Camila Cabello is here to remind us of one that never goes out of style – the school trend.
Britney Spears brought it to the fore with her iconic 1998 music video for “…Baby One More Time,” and Cabello, 27, is bringing the look to 2024.
At the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2025 show at Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday, October 1, the singer appeared in a gray cropped sweater over a white collared shirt, teaming the top with a gray plaid pleated miniskirt with buckle detailing and an embellished design.
She added black loafers, short socks and a small black purse. Her long, dark hair – which had only been transformed into a shoulder-length hairstyle a few days ago – fell in soft waves. Cabello’s new style is believed to have come about with the help of extensions.

Cabello enjoyed a busy Fashion Week on and off the runway. For the Sept. 25 Rabanne show, the Fifth Harmony alum debuted a new, shorter haircut courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton.
The look, which featured layers and long side bangs, was accented with gel to give it a sleek, wet look.

The star also wore a halter silver minidress with a rosette appliqué in the middle.
“Slippery when wet @camila_cabello. I had a new cut for Paris FW,” Appleton said of the style on Instagram.

On September 23, Cabello appeared at the L’Oréal Paris Walk Your Worth show with dramatic butt-length hair, most likely with the help of extensions. She also wore a mini black velvet dress and heels.
The singer’s streak of brunette looks follows her platinum blonde streak earlier this year. She went blonde for the first time last February, speaking Call her dad podcast host Alex Cooper that he felt a “big, physical change” was necessary.

“I feel like it was just the year where, like, the theme was ‘play’ and ‘transformation’ and change and courage,” Cabello said on the March 6 episode. “But I feel that the music is also so different, that the world is so different that for so many reasons I thought, ‘I feel that a physical change should follow that’.”
At the 2024 MTV VMAs in September, Cabello went back to her dark hair.
