Candace Cameron Bure’s 3 Kids: All About Natasha, Lev and Maksim

Candace Cameron Bure is the mother of three children with her longtime husband, former hockey player Valeri Bure.

The couple had their first daughter, Natasha (25), several years into their marriage, and then sons Lev (23) and Maksim (22).

“We’re a very close family and no matter what’s on the schedule, we all stick together,” Candace told PEOPLE in 2011. “We have dinner together every night, and our weekends are all about having fun together. My time with them is so short and I know that will start to change when they start driving. But for now, I’m keeping them close.”

Since then, all her kids have left the nest, but the family still spends a lot of time together. The Full house alum has been sharing plenty of family photos on social media — some of which have drawn criticism. “It just comes with the territory and I can deal with it,” she said in 2021. “But as soon as someone starts criticizing my kids or saying negative things like [that]mama bear is coming out.”

Candace’s children have also come to the actress’ defense on several occasions, with her daughter Natasha speaking out after JoJo Siwa called Candace “the rudest celebrity” she’s ever met in July 2022. In November, Natasha once again stood behind her mother after the former Hallmark star’s controversial comments about the portrayal of “traditional marriage” storylines on Great American Family sparked backlash.

Candace’s oldest child, Natasha Valerievna, was born on August 15, 1998. Although she had a relatively private childhood, she followed her mom into the stars in recent years.

Natasha entered the limelight at the age of 17 when she appeared in the 11th season Vote and was chosen to join Team Adam Levine. She survived her first performance and was eliminated after the second.

Although she said she was “humbled” by the prospect, Natasha shared why she chose to audition for Olivia Jade Giannulli’s podcast in 2022. “The only reason I auditioned was because my mom told me one thing — she’s like, ‘If she shows up opportunity that scares you, you should say yes just because it scares you,’ she recalled. “It was a good experience growing up, but when people say they watched it, I say, ‘I feel sorry for you. I’m so sorry.’ ”

While Natasha insists her singing has improved, she has turned her focus to acting. She appeared in Aurora Teagarden Mysteries with his mom, one episode a fuller house and several Hallmark Channel movies. Despite her association with Full house star, Natasha says that it was not easy to break into acting.

“It’s a misconception that everything is given to you or that you don’t have to work for what you get,” she told PEOPLE in 2022. “It would be if I got [cast] in a school play or something, I had people and friends who would say, ‘Oh, it’s only because her mom gave her the part,’ or things like that.”

The young star says her parents were distant when it came to her career. “My parents are so far from my life. They wish they were more involved, which is actually something we joke about all the time,” she explained. – I would say that I work for everything I can get, but I struggle alone and have a completely separate life from my parents or from anyone, actually.

Candace previously told PEOPLE that she is proud to see her daughter working toward her dreams. “She does a great job,” she said. “Sometimes I look at my kids like, ‘How did I give birth to them? How did that happen?’ ”

Although acting is her passion, Natasha has also dabbled in modeling — she walked in her first fashion show with Sherri Hill in 2019. She also collaborated with her mom on the design of a charity jewelry line with the brand 31 Bits in 2016. In her free time, Natasha documents her life and shares beauty videos on YouTube.

In July 2022, Natasha made headlines after calling out JoJo Siw for criticizing her mom. “Respectfully, being told not to take a photo with you is not a ‘difficult experience,'” Natasha wrote on her Instagram Story. “This generation is so sensitive and has no backbone. Grow up. There are bigger problems in the world than this.”

A few months later, Natasha took to social media again to defend Candace. After several celebrities reacted to the actress’ comment about telling stories centered around a “traditional marriage,” Natasha spoke out about the controversy on Instagram. Alongside a photo of her family, she accused the media of trying to “twist the narrative” and called the “culture of dismissal” “nothing but ugly”.

“I’m lucky to be able to see you through a lens closer than most and see how real you really are,” she wrote of her mom.

In August 2023, Natasha spoke openly about her conservative values ​​when she promised to dress more modestly.

“Modesty and I have really come a long way,” Natasha shared on her Instagram Story. “A year or two ago I dressed COMPLETELY differently and showed a LOT more of my body than I ever should have.”

She added: “I still want to dress fashionably and keep up with trends, but I never want to compromise my values.”

Lev Valerievich Bure, 23

Candace gave birth to her second child, Lev Valerievich, on February 20, 2000, according to her Instagram. Like his older sister Natasha, Lev followed in his parents’ footsteps and joined the family business: wine.

“Lev works for our family business full-time,” Candace said in an interview with her brother Kirk Cameron in 2021. “He lives in Napa Valley … and is also in his third year at Liberty University, working on the line.” Candace and her husband founded Bure Family Wines in 2006.

Lev later graduated in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in biblical and theological studies.

Lev doesn’t seem to have a social network, but he had some high level connections. Maksim Valerijevič Bure, 22

Maksim “Maks” Valerievich was born on January 20, 2002 in Malibu, California. He attended Northstar Christian Academy High School, a private school specializing in ice hockey, and graduated in May 2021.

“What a day! My boy. My son. My baby. So proud of you,” Candace wrote on Instagram. “You have grown so much in character and your love for God. Your joy is contagious! You are and always have been such a blessing to us; being your mom and dad. We are so thankful that God let us be your parents. As are all who have contributed to your journey.”

Maksim went on to attend Liberty University, where he followed in his father’s footsteps and began playing hockey during his freshman year. But Candace was devastated that she couldn’t see her son off to school.

“So we just left our youngest, the baby, at the airport to go to college and I’m so sad I didn’t get to take him to college,” she said on Instagram in August 2021. “I just had to drop him off at LAX, and I don’t get sympathy from anyone,” she teased, pointing at her husband.

According to his Instagram, Maks spends his free time traveling, hanging out with friends and family.
