Recent updates from law enforcement officials indicate that Young’s car was discovered on May 20, but there was no sign of the woman. Authorities took Casey Young’s boyfriend, Da’ron Collins, into custody and later charged him in connection with her disappearance.
Casey Young was employed at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, and her absence from work on May 16 prompted a missing person’s report. An analysis of phone records revealed that her phone stopped working around 4:50 p.m. local time, shortly after she arrived home.
Investigating officers believe that Da’ron Collins used Casey Young’s vehicle as a means of concealing his involvement. Collins is currently facing charges of grand theft and obstruction of justice.

Surveillance footage showed Da’ron Collins getting out of Young’s car around 7:34 p.m., wearing gloves. He was seen wiping down the car before depositing several items in a nearby dumpster.
Da’ron Collins was granted a $9,000 bond and, if released, will be placed under house arrest with GPS monitoring. He is prohibited from possessing firearms and from contacting any of Casey Young’s family members. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 24, 2023.
Authorities described Casey Young as a 5-foot-5-inch, 150-pound woman with long black braids. They urged the public to contact Lt. Brandon Letterman with any information about the missing woman. It was also reported that Young and Collins have a daughter who could serve as a witness in the case.
