Celine has had various additional health difficulties for a long time, including hearing abnormalities caused by a patulous Eustachian tube.

The central nervous system may be affected by the stiff-person syndrome, resulting in muscular spasms.

Stiff-person syndrome (SPS) is an uncommon autoimmune mobility condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. The issue occurs when muscles all throughout the body get stiff. Noise, mental discomfort, and gentle physical contact may all cause SPS, which causes painful muscular spasms. These symptoms may make walking difficult or impossible, and therapy may take years. The condition starts in one part of the body and spreads fast to the rest.

SPS affects one in a million persons and is most frequent in those aged 30 to 60. It is more frequent in those who have had autoimmune illnesses or cancer. SPS has no recognized origin, however, symptoms might occur anywhere between a few months and years. It may be diagnosed with blood testing, electromyography, and lumbar puncture. SPS may be treated with medications such as benzodiazepines, baclofen, anti-seizure medicines, intravenous immunoglobulin, plasmapheresis, rituximab, and autologous stem cell transplant.
