School holiday tomorrow in Chennai: Schools and colleges in Chennai will also remain closed for the fourth day in a row ie tomorrow: 7th December 2023. This time the holiday has been approved due to relief (ongoing) and floods caused by Cyclone Michaung. Schools in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu are closed from December 4, 2023.

School holidays tomorrow in Chennai: Cyclone Michaung weakens to a storm
According to the latest updates, Cyclone Michuang has already intensified into a depression and is currently moving over North Telangana after ravaging a number of South Indian states. Due to the cyclone, only light to moderate rains are expected; no return of bad weather is expected.
Rains in Chennai: Exams postponed in Chennai, Chengalputtu, Thiruvallur and Kanchipuram
The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has announced the postponement of mid-term examinations for students living in high-affected areas-Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalputtu due to Cyclone Michaung.
The authorities will reschedule the exams in these four districts. While in other regions it will be implemented according to plan. Principals of individual schools in the affected districts will use their discretion to adjust exam dates based on the state of recovery and may administer different sets of question papers if necessary.
RED alert issued in Andhra Pradesh
The eight regions in Andhra Pradesh that have received red alert are Tirupati, Nellore, Prakasam, Bapatla, Krishna, West Godavari, Konaseema and Kakinada. AP is likely to witness further heavy rains till Thursday.
