Chris Peluso died Wednesday, Aug. 16, according to Linda Goodrich, director of the University of Michigan’s musical theater program. A touching tribute was posted on the theatre’s official Instagram page to announce the terrible news.
Linda’s eulogy captured the deep pain the Michigan Musical Theater family felt at the loss of Chris Pelus, a dear family member and alumnus. He was a compassionate, sociable and extremely gifted person, according to her.
The importance of Chris Pelus’ significant contribution to the theater was emphasized. She mentioned that Chris has performed on Broadway in plays such as “Mamma Mia!”, “Assasins,” “Lestat,” “The Glorious Ones,” and “Beautiful.”
His abilities shined in London, where he appeared in “Miss Saigon” and “Showboat” and also took on the role of Fiyer in the touring version of “Wicked.”
Linda Goodrich sent her condolences to the family of Chris Pelus during this difficult time. She remembered him as a bright person who stands out for his extraordinary talent, good mood and kind character. She wished him eternal rest and sent love to his family and friends as she concluded her moving eulogy.
