Claim to fame continues to reveal some legendary celebrity cousins ​​this season.

In Season 3, Episode 6, which aired on August 14, Danny found himself a notorious guesser. After getting help from Shane, the two were convinced that Mackenzie’s cousin was Blake Shelton. However, when that assumption ended up being incorrect, Danny went home as a result.

After storming the house with many female fans watching at home, Danny, whose real name is Nael Zayas, revealed that his uncle is Grammy-winning singer Marc Anthony.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Nael explained the development and why he was pretty sure Mackenzie’s cousin would get in on the speculation.

“I thought we had that we didn’t really know anything about country singers,” he explains. “[Shelton was the] the first country singer that came to mind was that tall. I still feel good about choosing Blake even though it was wrong. We have a good shot in the dark.”

Nael adds that the whole experience of theorizing about people’s famous relatives became super “exhausting” as filming progressed. “We’re recording so many ideas, spending hours in front of the board and countless nights just waking up in the middle of the night jotting things down,” he says.

Nael notes that watching everything unfold on the show was even more “surreal,” calling it an “out-of-body experience.” He adds that he didn’t fully know that the house was trying to eliminate him the week before until he saw the episode on TV.

“I learned a lot more by watching the series, but during the course I felt that something was brewing,” he explains. “That’s why I always kept Dedrick close and tried to keep it in my pocket as long as I could. So in the long run I feel like he was fine with the things we would think about [Adam]. It just didn’t work, because you know Adam has a horseshoe.”

When Adam entered the final four, Nael admits that he was very surprised to have made it this far in the competition. “I still couldn’t believe we couldn’t get him out,” he says. “It’s crazy. By this point, it was like, how many times is it going to take? You can’t beat TV like that. It’s like, wow, I can’t believe it.”

Of course, Adam is not the only one who cheated the house. Not only did Nael baffle his fellow contestants during the series, but many fans watching at home took time to guess his famous cousin, which Nael admitted was “super flattering”.

“I’m surprised it took the internet detectives so long to find me,” he jokes. “It helps that I tried to erase my mark on the Internet. It was crazy, especially the time frame it took. I thought they would find out sooner, but I was doing something right.”

He points out that Anthony’s JLo track was a huge gift. “I knew she would figure it out eventually,” he says, referring to Anthony’s ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez. “I thought they’d catch him sooner, since he’s hanging from the board under everything. [I was] trying to delay it as much as possible. But that’s the game we’re playing and eventually everyone’s going to get called out.”

Speaking about his famous uncle, Nael notes that Anthony was very supportive while working on the show, noting that his only advice was just to be “honest”.

“I always try to use that in my life on a daily basis,” he adds about the words of wisdom he received from his uncle. “I always look at him as a figure I try to model myself after [him]. He has progressed so much in life and [achieved] legendary status. It is definitely something to admire. it’s really super inspiring and something I’d like to be one day.”
