Clayton Echard Confirms He Did Not Father Twins After Receiving Paternity Test Results: ‘Good News’

The Bachelor The alum revealed the results of his paternity test after an unidentified woman filed a lawsuit against him in September, claiming he fathered her unborn twins after a one-night stand.

“Listen, it’s Friday and you know what we need on Fridays? We need good news, and who got good news today? Today I received good news,” 30-year-old Echard began in an Instagram video. “The test results came in early and they said there was no fetal DNA. Let’s go baby! I knew it was going to happen and thankfully five months of torture can finally come to an end.”

“Two false accusations in two years — I really don’t want to look ahead to next year to see what happens. I think two false accusations in a lifetime are enough,” he continued, seemingly referring to his ex-girlfriend Susie Evans’ claims of infidelity in 2022.

“It was a difficult period, but I learned so much about myself and now I’m back to a regular schedule,” he concluded.

On September 21, Echard posted a screenshot of the paternity test confirmation on his Instagram Story to clarify the situation after he was named in a paternity suit filed by an unidentified woman in August.

In the lawsuit, the woman alleged that Echard became pregnant after the two met for a one-night stand. After filing the lawsuit, the woman asked Echard to take a test to find out the paternity of her unborn twins before she gives birth in February. The 33-year-old woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, claims the former bachelor didn’t comply with her test demands.

“This is the timeline. The truth will always set you free,” Echard wrote via email with receipt in a post on his Instagram Story. According to his screenshot, the TV personality paid $725 to schedule an appointment at a paternity clinic.

“I will take my portion of the test on September 27,” he wrote in an email, adding that the woman would provide her sample on October 2. “Then it will take about a week for the results to come in. I believe we are all on the same page now.”

Earlier that week, Echard denied claims he had a “sexual relationship” with the woman in an interview with Sun. The woman reportedly told the outlet that he refused to take the test and she had to pay a $725 deposit to do so, but Echard called her allegations “baseless” and “without merit.”

In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the woman said Echard refused to believe she was pregnant when she initially informed him back in June.

“I wanted you to come to me to confirm what I suspected. And you confirmed that. So I don’t see you as a liar anymore,” he allegedly told the unidentified woman.
