Courteney Cox Makes Fun of Her Humid Miami Hair with Famous Monica Geller Quote

Courteney Cox is channeling her Friends character to make fun of how the Miami humidity affected her hair.

On Wednesday, May 22, Cox, who played Monica Geller on the long-running sitcom, shared a fun clip on Instagram during her trip.

It starts with her indoors, her hair tamed and smoothed. She says, “I love Miami!” as he opens the door and steps onto the terrace.

As soon as she goes outdoors, her hair turns into voluminous curls.

Cox, 59, explains the change by mouthing one of Monica’s most famous lines: “It’s the humidity!”

Monica originally said the phrase during a season 9 episode Friends called “The One in Barbados, Part 1”, when the group goes to the Caribbean on vacation. Monica’s hair gets bigger and bigger during the episode due to the humidity, and her friends don’t hesitate to make fun of it. At one point, Monica got bored and shouted: “It’s the humidity!”

In the comments section of Cox’s post, faithful Friends fans mentioned some of the jokes Monica’s friends made about her hair in the episode.

One wrote: “That’s not true. I came with Monica, I’m leaving with strange Al.”

Another added: “ARE YOU LEAVING SUPREME?”

She quickly closes the tarp before walking away as eerie music plays over the video.

Friends aired for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004. Cox starred alongside Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.
