Courtney Stodden is engaged and excited about her next chapter!
Former Celebrity Big Brother star said after TV producer Jared Safier popped the question at the five-star Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills on June 11 — the same day as their first kiss a year ago.
Safier proposed with a 5-carat VVS brilliant-cut diamond ring and presented it to Stodden while they were at THE Blvd Restaurant and Lounge at the Beverly Wilshire, then officially got down on one knee when the couple returned to their Los Angeles home. According to TMZ, which first broke the news, Stodden first saw the ring she wanted back in February during an Oscars party, where it was on display in the lobby of the same hotel.
Now, Stodden, 29, is speaking exclusively to PEOPLE about her happy engagement.
“I’ve only been engaged for a few days and I’m still figuring it all out,” says the star. “A friend asked me ‘Is there anything that particularly attracted you to him?’ I said ‘Have you seen him?'”

Stodden continues, “I’m just starting a movie he’s directing me on and I can tell he wants to bring out the best in me. That’s what I love. He believes in me. He’s a four-time Emmy-winning producer and director, and I love his creative mind.”
As for what’s next for the couple, Stodden says “a wedding is being planned soon.”
“I want to be a good wife,” she adds. “We’re planning a honeymoon in Italy where he’s going to direct the movie, and I’m really hoping for my happy ending.”

The former reality TV star and Emmy-winning producer Safier have been romantically linked since last summer, and their romance is “growing very fast and very serious,” an insider told TMZ.
Plus, news of Stodden’s engagement comes just days after she made headlines by filming them throwing their last engagement ring – from their previous relationship with ex-fiancé Chris Sheng – down the toilet.

In a video exclusively shared by TMZ on June 11 — the same day Safier popped the question — Stodden recorded a video of them rinsing the ring. “I’m just doing some last-minute spring cleaning before summer,” she said, taking their diamond ring out of a jewelry box.
“I guess diamonds aren’t always a girl’s best friend after all,” Stodden continued in the video, walking toward the restroom. After dropping it and waving the ring as it went down the drain, she laughed and announced, “On to the next chapter.”

Stodden told TMZ at the time that their decision to ditch the ring in the bathroom was inspired in 1997.Titanic. “Like the little old woman who ended up dropping it in the ocean, I needed to get rid of all the remnants of the past that no longer had any effect on me. Rose’s character taught me something special – what a woman does with her diamonds is her prerogative,” she explained.
A source confirmed to PEOPLE that Stodden and Sheng split after a two-year engagement back in July 2023. “Courtney is now a single woman,” a rep for the former model said in a statement to Page six at the time, adding that he was “happy to say [her] Story.”

Sheng, 44, proposed to her in 2021, and Stodden announced the news on Instagram, sharing a photo of the diamond ring, which has now turned red. “I said yes… Oh and the ring made me stand up, it’s so beautiful,” she wrote in the post, which has since been deleted.
Before Stodden’s engagement to Sheng, the model was married to actor Doug Hutchison. Stodden married the actor in 2011 at the age of 16. The former couple divorced in 2020.
