Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney Are Bound by Fate in Action-Packed Madame Web Trailer: Watch

Dakota Johnson has been here before.

On Wednesday, Sony Pictures released the first trailer for its upcoming superhero movie Madame Webin which Johnson, 34, plays a New York paramedic named Cassandra Webb who begins to see the future — and has a startling personal connection to a mysterious company Spider man– related characters.

The trailer, set to Billie Eilish’s hit song “Bury a Friend,” introduces Cassandra as she tries to protect a trio of teenagers (including Sydney Sweeney) from a masked villain who looks suspiciously like Spider-Man. When the villain stabs Cassandra, she returns to the beginning of the encounter.

Cassandra then recounts her life as a paramedic in Manhattan alongside a colleague played by Adam Scott. After a near-death experience on the job, Cassandra admits to a doctor that she has visions of the future and begins to encounter Sweeney’s trio of friends and the man trying to kill them, whom she identifies as Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim).

The teenagers and Cassandra realize that they are connected to each other and that Ezekiel can see the future for himself, while trying to stop him from destroying a future where the teenagers also grow into spider-related super powers.

The official synopsis for the film implies Madame Web takes place in yet another new universe, separate from Sony’s Poison movies, his 2022 supervillain film Morbius and her role in Tom Holland Spider man series.
